Do you know a child who loves animals and would benefit from calm, hands-on experiences in a supportive farm setting?
Barn Buddies is a small, friendly Sunday morning club where children can enjoy meaningful interactions with animals, explore the farm at their own pace and build confidence in a relaxed environment. Sessions are delivered in a short 4-week block and are led by experienced, supportive staff.
Children take part in a range of activities including gentle animal handling, caring for animals, animal-themed crafts and sensory play. Activities are flexible and choice-led, with regular breaks built in to suit individual needs.
- Sundays, 10am-12pm
- Delivered as a 4 week block
- £21 per session (£84 total price)
- Small groups of 6 children
- For ages 8-17
- For neurodivergent children, who a undergoing a diagnosis or diagnosed
- Each group supported by dedicated care staff
- Activities across the farm, gardens and barn
Activities may include:
- Handling small animals such as guinea pigs and reptiles
- Grooming and bathing animals
- Walking larger animals including sheep, goats and our pony
- Feeding animals and making enrichment activities
- Sensory play and animal-themed crafts
- Access to our aquatics sensory area
A few important things to know before attending:
- To help everyone have a calm, safe, and enjoyable experience, we ask that children are able to listen to and follow simple, clear guidance during activities.
- For the wellbeing of both children and animals, participants should not have allergies to animals, animal dander, hay, or seeds/nuts.
- Activities take place in a small-group setting, so children should feel comfortable sharing space and experiences with others.
- We recommend wearing suitable clothing such as old clothes, wellies or sturdy boots, and waterproofs where needed.
- Parents and carers will be asked to read and sign a Farm Waiver prior to attending.
All sessions are fully supervised, with the safety of children and the welfare of our animals always at the heart of what we do. 💛🐾
