An circular fashion brand, born out of a charity initiative to tackle post-consumer fashion waste, breathed new life into the fashion world when it hit the runway at London Fashion Week 2024. After already hitting the runway at Northern Fashion Week 2023, the initiative continues to grow and shine an important spotlight on the importance of sustainable fashion.

Neuthread reuses discarded fabrics destined for landfill, providing trendsetters with unique, high-fashion garments that positively impact the world around us. Of the 32 billion garments produced for the fashion industry each year, a shocking 64% end up in landfill. With sustainability high on the agenda, we pioneered the project using funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The project reuses existing fibres and textiles, reducing carbon emissions, and saving water, energy, and chemicals, resulting in less pollution. The name uses a play on words with ‘neu’ – representing the work we do supporting neurodivergent people.

Neuthread is showcased and sold at Daisy Chain Megastore in Team Valley Retail Park in Gateshead and can also be purchased online.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to support us on the project in a range of roles including: pattern cutting, seamstress, eCommerce, photography and social media. Register your interest below.
