Martin Pout – Trustee

Martin Pout has an academic background and has lectured at a number of universities in the UK. Alongside teaching he also has extensive experience in the area of education management, at a senior strategic level. He spent over a decade in a Dean role at Teesside University and his current role is at the Durham University where he leads on international development for two of the four faculties.

Outside of academia Martin has held the post of Director of Marketing and PR for a large regional law firm and has worked on a £10 million project for Gateshead NHS Trust. In his spare time Martin is a Trustee and a Non-Executive Director of a Multi-Academy Trust based in the Tees Valley and also a governor at a school in Hartlepool.

Martin is also the very proud father of twin boys, one of whom is autistic and has significant learning difficulties.

Martin became a trustee at Daisy Chain as he wanted to support the charity in its work and help make the world a kinder and more supportive place for autistic and neurodivergent people. As an autistic person himself, he’s proud to bring his lived experience to the Trustee board.
